I have known Steve Caccavo over a twenty year period as a business role model, consultant, and friend and feel qualified to recommend his business consulting services. 

 

When I started John Wm Macy CheeseSticks in 1985, Steve was enjoying phenomenal success with Well Bred Loaf , the company he founded in the mid 70’s.  Their products could be found everywhere in NYC and no doubt inspired many an aspiring specialty food manufacturer of which I was only one.  I was thrilled when he sauntered by our small shop on

13th Street
to introduce himself.  He lived in the neighborhood and, yes, had a few surplus ovens to sell but mostly he wanted to see what we were up to and how we were doing. 

 

When “The Loaf” was sold in the mid-90’s and Steve founded his consulting practice, I readily engaged his services to help with a variety of projects at CheeseSticks.  He put together our first employee handbook and played a key role in rationalizing our production management structure which had been utterly ad hoc until then.  He was particularly helpful in winning the confidence of our talented but prickly production manager.  Steve’s direct but non-threatening style of communication engaged the otherwise uncooperative manager and that troubled relationship improved as a result. 

 

Steve works hard and always comes prepared for the work at hand.  His enthusiasm for problem solving is unbounded and, coupled with his well-honed listening skills, can be relied upon to render the most stubborn issues into manageable components.  I cannot imagine that any business owner or manager would not profit from utilizing Steve’s unique set of skills.
